Petr Hlaváček is a deputy mayor of the Capital City of Prague for STAN and the lead candidate of the Starostové list in the Prague municipal elections in October 2026 [1][2].

According to bookmakers, he was among the favourites for the post of mayor before the elections; the odds on him were comparable to those on Tomáš Portlík, the leader of the Spolu pro Prahu coalition [1][2]. The odds on Portlík were 1.9:1 at both major bookmakers, while the odds on the ODS and TOP 09 coalition as a whole were 1.5:1. [2] Tipsport spokesman Jiří Hadrava explained this by Hlaváček's political experience in Prague and said that, in a dispute between several parties over the post of mayor, he could be the most acceptable solution for a broader coalition. [1] In an interview for Deník N, he distanced himself from the current deputy mayors from the Pirates and Praha sobě, Zdeněk Hřib and Adam Scheinherr, and said that he does not bow to the ODS [3]. In the interview he also said that he had changed his mind about whether he wants to be mayor, because in the pre-election debates he realised, in his words, that without the further work of his team the ongoing changes in the running of the city would fall apart. [3] Hlaváček accepted the invitation to a debate of candidates for mayor of Prague broadcast by Česká televize, to which ten groupings were invited. [4]
