SPOLU pro Prahu is an electoral alliance represented in the Prague city assembly after the municipal elections in October 2026. Together with the STAN movement it holds a narrow majority of 34 assembly members. [1] In the elections to the Prague assembly, STAN and SPOLU each won 17 seats, Praha sobě 13, the ANO movement 11 and the Czech Pirate Party 7 out of 65 in total. [2]
Post-election negotiations
The STAN movement, which won the election in the capital, negotiated with SPOLU pro Prahu on forming a coalition. According to Radiožurnál, at their first meeting the two groupings assured each other that they want to cooperate, and a second meeting was planned for 14 October 2026. [1] At the talks of the negotiating teams, according to Hlaváček, both sides agreed on priorities in transport, education and housing; it remained unclear who would manage finances. [5]
STAN lead candidate Petr Hlaváček would, according to Radiožurnál, ideally prefer a coalition of three groupings and also wants to negotiate with Praha sobě and the Czech Pirate Party. SPOLU pro Prahu, by contrast, according to the same source prefers a two-party coalition. STAN and SPOLU could agree, for example, on raising public transport fares, converting brownfields into residential districts and completing the city ring road. [3] Tomáš Portlík (ODS) nevertheless met with the lead candidates of the Czech Pirate Party and Praha sobě. [1] STAN wants to sign the coalition agreement only in November 2026, so that it can work specific projects into the programme statement and at the same time manage to approve the city budget for the next year. [4] Portlík said that STAN and SPOLU would like to keep their existing portfolios, that is, STAN spatial development and education, and SPOLU infrastructure, social affairs and health. [6] According to Czech Pirate Party lead candidate Tereza Nislerová, the party would most want the housing portfolio in a possible coalition. [4] On 19 October 2026 Hlaváček met with the Czech Pirate Party and Praha sobě, presented them with a specific offer of cooperation and expected an answer from the Czech Pirate Party by Wednesday 21 October 2026. [4]
Portlík would welcome a balanced distribution of seats on the eleven-member city council. [5]
