Martin Kuba is the governor of the South Bohemian Region. After twenty-two years he left ODS and founded the Naše Česko movement [1][2]. Jiří Borovka, the chairman of the South Bohemian ODS, said in an interview for Česká jízda that no exodus from the regional organisation took place after the departure of Kuba and some of the members. [3]
The movement is entering the October 2026 municipal elections with candidate lists across the country. According to Deník N, 463 people stand on them who previously sought a mandate for another party, half of them for ODS [2]. According to Kuba, the difference for him compared with the time when he was responsible for ODS's result in South Bohemia is that he now deals with candidate lists across the whole country; municipal elections are, in his words, difficult for a new entity because it lacks an established brand [1]. Kuba considers the Senate elections important also because the media will be watching whether the movement forms a Senate club, that is, at least five senators; according to him, this will not decide the movement's future in any fundamental way. [1]
If the movement were unsuccessful in České Budějovice, they would, according to Kuba, have to consider how to proceed, but in September 2026 he had no such consideration in mind. [1]
