According to Czech News Agency reporting from October 2026, ODS is among the opposition parties. Its chairman is Martin Kupka, who is standing in the 2026 municipal elections for the council in Líbeznice.[1]
Czech Television announced on 6 October 2026 that Kupka will not appear in the final pre-election Superdebata, because he is a candidate and Czech Television's rules do not allow candidates to take part. Czech Television plans to broadcast the final Superdebata on 8 October 2026, and according to its spokesman Michal Pleskot, representatives of parties that are not themselves standing in the elections are welcome in it. [1] Kupka was among the chairmen who asked the broadcaster to allow them to take part.[1] The letter to Czech Television was also signed by the chairmen of the Czech Pirate Party, KDU-ČSL and TOP 09, whose request the broadcaster likewise did not grant.
