Representatives of ANO, the Karlovaráci movement and the ODS signed a coalition agreement for the 2026 to 2030 term in Karlovy Vary on 20 October 2026. The coalition partners announced the agreement on the city website.[1]
Make-up of the city leadership
Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová (ANO) remains mayor, with Martin Dušek (ANO) as first deputy mayor. Lubomír Kovář remains another deputy mayor for ANO. For Karlovaráci, Miroslav Vaněk is again deputy mayor and Václav Skuhravý is the new second deputy mayor. The nine-member city council will have five members from ANO and four from Karlovaráci. The ODS will have no seat on the council; its two councillors will be entrusted with specific areas: Petr Bursík with the zoning plan and strategic projects, Tomáš Lehečka with the coordination of public services and community life. These will not be full-time posts, deputy mayor Dušek said.[1][2]
In the 35-member city assembly the coalition will hold 18 votes.[1]
Earlier coalition
A coalition of the same parties governed the city in the previous term as well. In 2018 ANO held five seats on the council, Karlovaráci three and the ODS one. Four years later a coalition of the same parties was formed, in which, besides the mayor, there were three deputy mayors and one full-time councillor.[1]
Election result
In the municipal elections of October 2026, ANO won with 26.43 percent of the vote and ten seats. The Vary+ coalition of KOA, the Czech Pirate Party, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL came second with 22.74 percent and nine seats. Karlovaráci and Starostové a nezávislí won six seats each, SPD and the ODS two each.[1][2]
