Petr Macinka is the chairman of the Motoristé movement, a deputy prime minister and the foreign minister.[1][4]

Dispute over the Ministry of the Environment

On the discussion programme Partie on CNN Prima News on 27 September 2026, Macinka responded to a video by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), in which Babiš said he had received 2,000 e-mails demanding that the environment portfolio be taken away from Motoristé. Macinka said: “I have absolutely no intention of giving up the Ministry of the Environment.” In his view the coalition agreement would have to be changed, and he has no indication of any change in the coalition.[1][2][3]

The ministry is headed by Igor Červený (Motoristé). Macinka said that the prime minister is being written to by representatives of non-profit organisations that lost subsidies and that, in his view, have been running a campaign against Motoristé from the start. According to the Czech News Agency, environmental experts and the opposition criticise the steps taken by Motoristé at the ministry.[1][3]

Proposal to enshrine the koruna in the Constitution

Macinka is among the signatories of a proposal that would write a sentence into the Constitution stating that the Czech koruna is the Czech currency. The proposal is also signed by minister Boris Šťastný (Motoristé), MP Filip Turek and Tomio Okamura, chairman of the SPD and of the Chamber of Deputies. Representatives of the ANO movement are absent among the signatories.[4]
