Tomio Okamura is the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and chairman of the SPD movement.

Session on a vote of no confidence in the government
On 25 September 2026 opposition parties handed him the signatures of all of their 92 deputies under a proposal to convene a session on a vote of no confidence in the government; the Speaker must convene such a session without delay [1]. At the debate on 29 September 2026 Okamura gave a speech in which he said that, according to the Czech Statistical Office, electricity prices had fallen year on year by 11 percent and gas prices by 5 percent, and he defended the government’s steps, including the rejection of the EU migration pact and of ETS2 emission allowances [2].
Draft constitutional act on the crown
Okamura, together with deputies Boris Šťastný, Petr Macinka and Filip Turek, is a sponsor of a draft constitutional act that is to add to the Constitution an article on the Czech crown as the currency of the Czech Republic [4]. Okamura asked the government for its opinion; the Legislativní rada vlády requested comments by 13 October 2026 [4].
China
In an interview with Frekvence 1, Okamura said that during a visit to China in July he had pre-negotiated the abolition of tourist visas for Czech citizens [5].
