The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic (MZV) is a central authority whose missions abroad help Czech citizens in emergencies. Its role is illustrated by the case of a traffic accident in the US state of Wyoming in October 2026, in which two Czech citizens died and another was injured.[1]*

Consular assistance after the accident in Wyoming

Ministry spokesman Adam Čörgő said on 2 October 2026 that the case was being handled by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles.[1][3] According to him, the consulate general is providing "intensive consular assistance" to the families of the deceased and to the injured citizen, and is in contact with local police and other authorities.[1][3]

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.[1][2][3] The ministry gave no further details about the accident itself or the identity of the victims.[3]
