Róbert Šlachta is a senator and a leading figure of the Přísaha movement. In the municipal elections of 9 and 10 October 2026 he ran in Pohořelice from fifth place on the list and finished first in preferential votes.[1] Šlachta said he ran from fifth place because he is a senator and does not want to hold several offices at once. [1] The Přísaha movement won four council seats in Pohořelice.[1] In 2022 Přísaha had won 41.29 percent of the vote and nine seats there. [3]

Šlachta called the movement's result in Brno, where it won one percent of the vote, a major failure.[1] According to Ekonomický deník, the construction company Drivestone sent the Přísaha movement a donation of three million crowns at the start of 2026, which is a million crowns more than its profit for 2025. [4] In Pohořelice the ODS, led by mayor Miroslav Novák, won eight seats; Novák said Přísaha would remain in opposition and that he would offer it the finance committee and the audit committee.[1] The ODS received 33.3 percent of the vote in Pohořelice, the ANO movement over 22 percent and five seats, and Starostové and independents and Naše Pohořelice two seats each. Novák wants to continue the existing coalition of ODS, ANO, STAN and Naše Pohořelice and to convene the inaugural council meeting for 2 November 2026. [3]

At the beginning of October 2026 opposition councillors in Pohořelice gathered the support of a fifth of voters for a referendum on the former hotel Morava.[2]

The town has owned the hotel since the beginning of 2023, having bought it for fifty million crowns. The town hall wants to sell it so that an apartment building can be built on the site, and the Přísaha opposition councillors have come out against the sale. [2]
