In Senate district No. 12 Strakonice, the incumbent senator Tomáš Fiala (Naše Česko) led the preliminary results of the first round with more than 58 percent of the vote after more than 75 percent of the polling districts had been counted. Miroslav Ušatý (Svobodní) had just under 23 percent and Jana Hrdinová (KDU-ČSL) just under 20 percent.[1][2]

Senator Zbyněk Sýkora, at the Naše Česko headquarters in České Budějovice, described the interim result as a first swallow and said that the movement approaches the result with humility. According to him, the movement's priority is its own Senate caucus; if it does not obtain one, it allows for expanding an existing caucus.[1][2] Sýkora added that Naše Česko does not want to remain unaffiliated in the Senate and that, in his words, the final shape of the caucus is to be discussed only after the elections. [1]

Movement leader Martin Kuba said that the movement could have had its first defended Senate seat.[1][2]
