Ondřej Tichý is a Pardubice local politician and was the ODS lead candidate in the 2026 elections to the city council of Pardubice.[1][2]
Election campaign
In Pardubice, ODS contested the elections on its own rather than within the Spolu coalition. Tichý described this as a decision of the Pardubice organisation and said that the party has six councillors and wants to strengthen its position.[1] He named transport, greenery and the city's finances among the main problems of the city. According to him, ODS criticised measures directed against drivers, organised a petition against narrowing traffic on Náměstí Republiky, which 1,300 people signed, and does not agree with the construction of a new city hall building.[1]
Post-election talks
ODS won seven seats in the elections. Together with Starostové a nezávislí (STAN), Progresivní Pardubice, Naše Pardubice and Noví lidovci, it began negotiations on a new coalition holding 22 of the 39 seats in total. Representatives of the groupings agreed not to negotiate with ANO or with Žijeme Pardubice. The post of mayor is to go to the party with the strongest mandate, that is ODS.[2] Tichý read out the joint statement after a two-hour meeting.[2]
