Ladislav Med (ODS) is the mayor of Pelhřimov and a candidate in the 2026 Senate elections in district no. 15, Pelhřimov.[1][4] According to iDNES.cz, he has been part of the town leadership for many years.[1]
2026 Senate elections
Med won the first round and advanced to the second round together with Michal Kozár (ANO), the mayor of Jindřichův Hradec.[1][4] The district covers the Pelhřimov district and part of the Jindřichův Hradec area.[4] Med is running for a coalition that, besides ODS, is backed by STAN, KDU-ČSL and TOP 09.[4] He described Kozár as a tough opponent and said that he himself is better known in the Pelhřimov area, while Kozár is better known in the Jindřichův Hradec area.[1] Both candidates were also defending their posts in the municipal elections.[3][4]
Czech Television prepared a debate between the two candidates before the second round.[2]
