Náměstí Republiky is a square in the centre of Prague. The Municipal House, a neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau building from 1906–1911, is accessible from the square, and its entrance with a canopy opens onto it.[1]
Events on the square
On 26 September 2026 a procession of deaf people set off from the square at 11:00 and headed through the centre of Prague. It stopped at the Municipal House, where several girls performed the Czech national anthem in sign language on the balcony.[2]
Planned metro
According to Novinky.cz, the city plans to extend Line D of the metro as far as Náměstí Republiky in the longer term. The whole route of the line from Písnice via Pankrác to the Náměstí Míru metro station is, according to the current schedule, to start operating in 2036.[3]
