Václav Láska is a senator for SEN 21 in the Prague 5 district.[1]

He defended his seat in the Senate elections in October 2026 and, according to Czech News Agency calculations, advanced to the second round, in which he will face Radko Sáblík of ODS.[1] Láska told the Czech News Agency that the campaign before the first round had been fair and expressed his conviction that the same would be true in the second round. [2] According to Seznam Zprávy, he turned down offers from the Czech Pirate Party and Praha sobě that he not run for Prague City Hall in exchange for support in the Senate elections. [3] At the same time he led the SEN candidate list for Prague in the elections to the Prague city council. [3] According to a poll by the Median agency, the SEN 21 movement would not cross the five-percent threshold in the Prague elections. [4] Láska rejects this and states that he counts part of the costs of the city campaign towards the Senate limit. [4] Some opponents, among them Zdeněk Šarapatka, according to the same source, accuse him of circumventing the two-million limit on a Senate campaign by running the campaigns in parallel. [4] According to Info.cz, he intended to spend about eight million crowns on the campaign for the Prague city council. [4] In 2020 he won the district in the second round with 54.37 percent of the votes, and Michael Žantovský, the TOP 09 candidate, came second. [1] In the first round he received 32.54 percent of the votes and Sáblík 27.1 percent. [1] Turnout in the district was 45.41 percent of voters, and seven people ran. [1]

He was first elected to the Senate in 2014 and defended his seat in 2020 with the support of KDU-ČSL, the Pirates and the Zelení. [2]
