Karlovaráci is a movement active in the politics of the city of Karlovy Vary. In the local elections in October 2026 it won six seats on the 35-member city council. [1][2] The ANO movement won the Karlovy Vary elections with 26.43 per cent of the vote and ten seats; the Vary+ coalition came second with 22.74 per cent and nine seats. [1]
Coalition after the 2026 elections
On 20 October 2026 the Karlovaráci movement signed a coalition agreement for the 2026 to 2030 term together with the winning ANO movement and the ODS. The ODS will not have a seat on the city executive board, but it will receive two authorised councillors who will not hold fully paid posts. [3] The nine-member city executive board is to have five members from ANO and four from Karlovaráci. Miroslav Vaněk remains deputy mayor, and Václav Skuhravý becomes the movement's second deputy mayor. [1][2] Skuhravý, a former ice hockey player, received the most preferential votes of all the movement's candidates. [4]
The coalition has 18 votes on the council. The city has been governed by the same party line-up for the third term in a row. The inaugural meeting of the new council is probably scheduled for 10 November 2026. [5] In 2018 Karlovaráci held three seats on the city executive board and one deputy mayor. [1][2]
