Pelc-Tyrolka is an area in Prague 8 not far from Štvanice and the university halls of residence.[1][2] The stadium was originally planned on Štvanice, but according to Klecanda the leadership of Prague 7 was against it. [1]
Planned stadium and swimming pool
According to the councillor of the Capital City of Prague Antonín Klecanda (STAN), a stadium for university ice hockey is now planned here. A study has been prepared for the stadium and work on the project is now to begin; the completion date is not yet clear.[1][2] The stadium is to have a capacity of about five thousand spectators and, according to earlier estimates, cost hundreds of millions of crowns. At least half of it is to serve university clubs, and the rest, for example, youth and women’s ice hockey or para ice hockey.[1][2] Prague is preparing the stadium together with Prague universities. [1]
According to Klecanda, a swimming pool is also to be built next to the stadium, using waste heat from cooling the ice surface to heat the water.[1][2] According to Klecanda, Prague needs pools, among other things, for school swimming lessons, and is preparing further pools, for example in Horní Počernice and Černý Most.
