In September 2026 the Municipal Court in Prague ruled in a dispute between the company Seznam.cz and Filip Turek, an MP for Motoristé sobě.[1]

Seznam.cz v. Filip Turek

On 28 April 2026, in the programme Přísně tajné on the Xaver Live channel, Turek said that, in his view, almost every employee looks into e-mails on Seznam. Seznam.cz rejected this and stated that it protects users' data in its own data centres in Czechia.[1]

In mid-September 2026 the Municipal Court ruled that Turek must apologise to the company in writing within three days of the judgment becoming final, stating that the statement was untrue and unsubstantiated, publish a copy of the apology as a separate post on Facebook and pay the costs of the proceedings.[1]

On Sunday 4 October 2026 Turek apologised on Facebook. He described the outcome of the dispute as a loss by default and said that he preferred to work rather than attend court hearings, and he mentioned savings on state media campaigns. According to its spokesperson, Seznam.cz does not regard the Facebook post as fulfilling the obligation imposed by the court, because it has not been delivered a signed written apology. The company said it is waiting for the judgment to become final and, if the obligation is not fulfilled, will pursue the matter through enforcement.[1][2]
