Čestmír Vančura is the chairman of the Zlín 21 movement and the leader of its list in the 2026 municipal elections in Zlín.[1][3]
Programme
The movement went into the elections with a programme called 21 závazků pro Zlín (21 commitments for Zlín). According to Vančura, who presented it in the Zlín city magazine, it covers seven areas with three commitments each, including the city returning to building its own rental and starter flats, opening the Velké kino on time and a decision on the winter stadium within twelve months.[3]
Post-election talks
After the elections, Zlín 21 began negotiating a coalition with ANO, which has led Zlín city hall for the past eight years with mayor Jiří Korec. According to iDNES.cz, KDU-ČSL and the Czech Pirate Party also joined the talks, and some of the movement's voters criticised the negotiations.[1] Vančura wrote on Facebook that the movement owes it to voters to "not let your vote go to waste in opposition".[1] According to him, the talks have not been concluded, and he also expected a meeting with the leadership of STAN.[1] He told Zlínský deník that one cannot please everyone in politics and that the movement is also receiving positive reactions from voters who do not want an alliance with STAN.[2]
