In Pardubice five groupings signed a coalition agreement on 26 October 2026: ODS, STAN, Progresivní Pardubice, Naše Pardubice and Noví lidovci. The mayor is to be Ondřej Tichý (ODS). The ANO movement, which won the local elections, will end up in opposition and will no longer lead the city after twelve years.[1][2]
Composition of the coalition
The coalition has 22 seats in the 39-member city assembly. The opposition will consist of ANO, the grouping Žijeme Pardubice, ANO's previous coalition partner, and the SPD with the support of Trikolora, the Svobodní and independents.[2] Progresivní Pardubice brings together the Czech Pirate Party, the Greens and TOP 09; Naše Pardubice is led by Filip Sedlák.[1]
In the eleven-member city council, ODS and STAN will each receive three seats, Progresivní Pardubice and Naše Pardubice two each and Noví lidovci one. For ODS, the mayor Tichý, deputy mayor Jan Mazuch and Dušan Stránský will sit on it, and for STAN Daniel Vondra, Jiří Hájek and Šárka Kuchtová.[1]
Division of portfolios
Jan Mazuch is to be in charge of finance and the budget, Martin Slezák of Progresivní Pardubice of transport, Petr Netolický of Noví lidovci of social affairs and culture, Kateřina Kosová of Naše Pardubice of the environment and Daniel Vondra of education.[2] Filip Sedlák will be an ordinary councillor and at the same time the full-time mayor of the first city district.[1]
Earlier developments
After the votes were counted, ANO, Žijeme Pardubice and STAN announced the formation of a new coalition. The STAN member of the Chamber of Deputies Anežka Nedomová publicly opposed cooperation with ANO, arguing that such a coalition would damage the trust of voters, and she gained the support of other members of the movement, including the regional chair and the regional committee. STAN then withdrew from the agreement and began negotiating with ODS, Progresivní Pardubice, Noví lidovci and Naše Pardubice.[1][2]
