In the elections to the Prague city council, the Praha sobě movement held third place with 17 percent, according to preliminary results after about 60 percent of votes had been counted. The Czech Pirate Party was in fifth place at the time with almost ten percent. According to Pražská Drbna, STAN, led by Petr Hlaváček, was in first place in the preliminary standings.[1][2]

On the evening of 10 October 2026, the chairman of Praha sobě, Adam Scheinherr, said he could imagine a coalition with STAN, SPOLU pro Prahu, and the Czech Pirate Party. According to him, he had agreed on this at a meeting with SPOLU pro Prahu leader Tomáš Portlík, and he wanted to meet with STAN representative Petr Hlaváček. He said the movement wants to seek the transport portfolio. Scheinherr also said that a coalition with 33 council members would be very unstable.[1]

Before the count, Scheinherr described around 20 percent as a good result and said the movement wanted to move from the opposition into the leadership of the capital city. He expects the new council to be voted on at the November council meeting. He named increasing the number of places at secondary schools as the first task.[1][2]

Coalition negotiations in Prague 22

In the Prague 22 (Uhříněves) municipal district, STAN won the 2026 municipal elections with six seats out of 25. Občanská kandidátka 22 (OK22), supported by Praha sobě, won five seats, ANO four, the Dvacetdvojka grouping and ODS three each, the Czech Pirate Party two, and the TADY 22 – hlas místních association two.[3][4]

STAN, OK22 (supported by Praha sobě), and the Czech Pirate Party agreed on the basis for a future coalition. Together they have 13 votes on the council, which is a narrow majority, so they are looking for one more coalition partner. Former Prague 22 mayor Vojtěch Zelenka (STAN) said that both STAN and OK22 have their own candidates ready for mayor, and the position will be decided according to the shape of the coalition. They want to have clarity by the end of October.[3][4]
