Pavlína Springerová is the mayor of Hradec Králové. According to iDNES.cz, in November 2026 four years will have passed since the city for the first time in its history elected a woman as its head.[1] In the 2026 municipal elections she is standing for the coalition of Hradecký demokratický klub and TOP 09.[4]

Springerová took part in a debate of representatives of parties and movements standing for the Hradec Králové council, which Český rozhlas Hradec Králové held on 5 October 2026.[2]
Boxes criticising the city leadership
On 3 October 2026 the Hradec Králové City Police found paper boxes printed with criticism of the city leadership, in particular the mayor, at the mouth of Špitálská Street onto Velké náměstí. According to deputy police director Martin Luštík, the boxes also appeared at 15 other places in the wider centre.[3] They referred to the website Sedm hříchů (Seven Sins), which criticises the city leadership, and Hradecká Drbna reports that the organiser of the action was not publicly known.[4]
Springerová said that she considers criticism of the city leadership legitimate, but regards placing dozens of boxes with political content in a public space as less standard, and that she passed the matter to the city police for assessment. According to her, she does not want to speculate without evidence about who is behind the action. When the boxes appeared again, she collected them on 6 October 2026, together with other people, from pavements, stops and the surroundings of paths.[3][4]
