Jaromír Beránek is the Deputy Mayor of Prague for transport, listed as a member of the Czech Pirate Party.[1]
Metro Line D
When the Prague Public Transit Company announced a tender for building the Libuš metro station on Line D, Beránek said he wanted to finish the station ahead of schedule so that it could start operating together with the first section of the line in 2032. He described Libuš as a densely populated part of the city that needs a high-capacity rail connection.[1] The estimated value of the contract was roughly CZK 3.76 billion excluding VAT.[2]
Traffic and noise
In September 2026 the Prague police began using a mobile noise meter to check exhausts.[3] According to Beránek, the city could buy one or two more such devices in the future. A mobile roller dynamometer for detecting modified e-bikes could, in his words, be obtained by the city in October.[4] According to the approved document, installing one speed camera costs two to five million crowns, and annual operation about 100,000 crowns, which the city districts will bear. [6] According to Beránek, the districts are to receive contributions from the capital's budget for new point and section speed cameras, whose installation will be paid for by the city hall and carried out by Technická správa komunikací hlavního města Prahy. [6] The roller dynamometer from the Netherlands is to cost 420,000 crowns. [3]
On 8 October 2026 he represented the Czech Pirate Party in a Český rozhlas Praha debate with candidates for the Prague City Assembly. [5]
