A first-grader's kit at 3300 koruna, and a bill parliament will decide on
The release joins two things: school supplies cost around 3300 koruna, almost half of that the satchel, and an unexpected expense of 16,800 koruna is beyond a fifth of Czech households. Parliament meanwhile is to decide whether people lent money without proper checks keep today's statutory protection.

Editor's note. Behind the text is a law firm that lives off unchecked loans. The figures of 3,300 and 16,800 koruna rest on „publicly available sources“ with nothing more specific, and on the amendment it talks about the consequence, not the clause.

Twice as many people over eighty in twenty years. The sums come from a firm that imports carers
The release builds on a statistical office projection: about 871 thousand people over eighty by 2041, against 466 thousand at the start of 2023. To keep today's ratio of beds the state would have to build some 600 new care homes for about 80 billion. Today's ratio already falls short, with over 70 thousand unmet applications on record. The conclusion is that care must shift into people's homes and that some 35 thousand new home carers will be needed.

Editor's note. The carers are brought over from the Philippines by the same firm that worked out how many will be needed. The rise in the number of older people matches the statistics office; the figures of 466 and 871 thousand lead nowhere except back to this release. Where the 80 billion comes from, it does not say.
