Zbyněk Linhart is a non-party member for STAN and a senator for the Děčín district.[4]

He defended his seat in the Senate elections in October 2026. He ran with the support of STAN and Starostové pro Liberecký kraj in a coalition called Senátor za Děčínsko - České Švýcarsko. [1] According to a Czech News Agency projection, he won more than half of the votes already in the first round, so no second round was needed in the Děčín area.[1][2] According to Novinky.cz, Linhart is, alongside Jiří Čunek, the only senator who has managed to win his seat in the first round twice in a row. [1] According to iDNES.cz, with 78 percent of the polling districts counted he had almost 53 percent of the votes, followed by the ANO candidate Michal Hejcman with 21 percent.[4] Besides Hejcman, according to Novinky.cz, he defeated, among others, Anna Lehká (Místní HNHRM), deputy mayor of Děčín, and Miroslav Štross (Zelení). [1] In 2020 he also won the district in the first round, with 52.77 percent of the votes, and Jiří Anděl (ANO) came second. [2] Anděl, the mayor of Děčín, received 19.14 percent of the votes at that time, and Leoš Moravec (SPD) came third with 11.24 percent. [1]

He would represent the Děčín area in the upper house for the third time. [1] Senator Michael Canov (SLK) said of Linhart that he is a role model of a senator for him. [1]
