Miroslav Plevný is a senator for the Cheb and Tachov area and has served in the Senate since 2020. He is a professor of economics at the University of West Bohemia, a regional councillor, and was formerly deputy mayor of Cheb. In the Senate he chairs the Committee on Economy, Agriculture and Transport.[3]

In the 2026 Senate elections he defended his seat in district no. 3, Cheb, as a non-party candidate for STAN.[2][3] According to Czech News Agency projections, he advanced to the second round, in which he will face Sandra Tsoukernik, the ANO candidate.[1][3]
