A traffic accident involving a passenger car and a lorry closed road I/20 near the village of Sedlec in the České Budějovice area on 2 November 2026. According to police spokesman Milan Bajcura, the passenger car entered the opposite lane and collided with the lorry. The semi-trailer of the truck came to rest across the road [1][2][3].

Police stopped traffic while the accident was dealt with and directed a diversion. According to Bajcura, it ran from the Nová Hospoda guesthouse to the left towards Dívčice and Týn nad Vltavou [1][3].

The emergency medical services dispatch centre sent a crew, a vehicle with a doctor and an air ambulance helicopter to the scene. According to Václav Burian, spokesman of the Emergency Medical Service of the South Bohemian Region, paramedics treated a seriously injured woman, whom firefighters freed from the wrecked vehicle. The helicopter then took her to the hospital in České Budějovice [1][2].
