On 5 October 2026 a regional court in the South Bohemian Region opened insolvency proceedings against the football club Dynamo České Budějovice. According to the petition, the third-division club owes about 850,000 crowns to three parties, as follows from data in the insolvency register.[1][2]
The petition and the creditors
The insolvency petition was filed by a company that provided catering services to the club. The petitioner states that the club owes it more than 240,000 crowns for a job from 2024 and that it offered to settle the debt through advertising, which according to the company it failed to do. According to the petition, the club owes almost 600,000 crowns to its former coach and a smaller amount to a creditor that provided graphic services to the club.[1][2] In the notice opening the proceedings, the court calls on the debtor's creditors who wish to assert claims to file a claim with the insolvency court.[1][2]
The club's position
The club was bought in 2025 by its current owner, and the liabilities mostly arose before that. Dynamo played in the second division in the previous season, but for the current season it did not obtain a licence for that competition from the Football Association of the Czech Republic. In the third division it is second after nine rounds, behind the leaders Domažlice.[1][2]
Context
According to the Czech News Agency, the city of České Budějovice intended to buy the club from the owner; she refused, and the city terminated her agreement on the use of the municipal stadium, where Dynamo may play until the end of April 2027. The South Bohemian Region then proposed that the owner sell the club for 32.5 million crowns, which she refused.[1][3]

Creditors' claims and the court hearing of 9 November
According to the insolvency register, from which the Czech News Agency drew, creditors in the insolvency proceedings against the football club Dynamo České Budějovice are asserting claims totalling 1.8 million crowns. Two more creditors have newly joined the proceedings: a construction company with a claim of 1.4 million crowns and a firm that demands money for brokering sponsorship funds.[4][5]
The petitioner stated that the club owes almost 600,000 crowns to its former coach and a smaller amount to a supplier of graphic services. In a statement, Dynamo said it had paid both debts; the former coach confirmed this, according to Deník.[4][6]
The court scheduled a hearing for 9 November 2026 at which it is to assess the insolvency petition, and summoned a representative of the club to it.[4][5]
