Natálie Tichánková of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc received the Thalia Award at the National Theatre for the role of Eva Perón in the musical Evita.
The Thalia Awards ceremony took place at the National Theatre in Prague, where Natálie Tichánková, an actress of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc, received the statuette in the category Musical, Operetta and Other Musical-Dramatic Genres.[1] She received the award for the role of Eva Perón in the musical Evita, which premiered at the Olomouc theatre in January 2026.[1] In total, twenty Thalia Awards were presented at the event.[1]
Recognition of the role
Tichánková called the awarded performance the "Olympus of musicals".[1] According to the jury, the role of the Argentine icon showed once more that contradictory female heroines are her domain; the jury praised her handling of the singing, acting and movement sides of the role, and especially the scenes with the character of Che.[2] The jury also took into account Tichánková's role of Dolly Levi in the musical Hello, Dolly! staged by the Slezské divadlo Opava.[2]
Reaction of the theatre and nominations
The Moravian Theatre Olomouc commented on the award on its Facebook profile: "Natálie, congratulations! And thank you for all the strong moments that you bring to our stage as Evita."[1] In the same category, Radim Biersky, a member of the same theatre, was nominated for the role of Che.[1] According to the theatre, the production team of Evita had four nominations at the Thalia Awards in total, which the management regards as recognition of the entire creative team.[2] The theatre thanked the director Marek David and Michael Prostějovský, author of the Czech text.[2]
Subsequent staging of the production
Following the award, the Moravian Theatre Olomouc announced that it will stage Evita on Sunday at 2:30 p.m., and an autograph session with Tichánková and Biersky is to take place after the performance.[1][2]
