Construction of the new exit from the D1 motorway to Černovická terasa in Brno is being postponed to spring, according to the road builders.

The start of construction of a new exit from the D1 motorway to Černovická terasa in the south-eastern part of Brno is being postponed to spring 2027. The road builders had originally expected to begin building in 2026 and to finish in 2029. The expected cost of the construction is 1.8 billion crowns [1][2].
The exit at kilometre 200 of the motorway is intended to substantially relieve the congested Řípská street [1]. Traffic in this part of the city is growing denser because built-up areas in the industrial zone are increasing and more are to be built. Queues form in front of the junctions at the start and end of shifts in the factories. The construction was already being discussed more than ten years ago, when Amazon unsuccessfully sought a logistics centre in the zone [1][2].
The construction will include the rebuilding of the junction at kilometre 201 of the D1 and collector lanes between the two exits, that is, parallel lanes with a maximum permitted speed of 80 kilometres per hour. The structure is to be prepared for a future widening of the D1 to six lanes. Roundabouts will be built on both exits where they meet the access road. It will be the sixth Brno exit between kilometres 190 and 203 of the motorway [1][2].
The construction also includes a relocation of a class III road between Černovická terasa and Tuřany. A cycle path will run along it, to be linked with a cycle path to Tuřany [1][2].
