After the 2026 municipal elections, the mayor of Jihlava Petr Ryška (Tým pro Jihlavu) negotiated a coalition with the leaders of ANO and of Starostové a nezávislí, and with the candidate of the Czech Pirate Party and Fórum Jihlava. A meeting with SPD did not take place.[1][2] The leader of Starostové a nezávislí, Petr Kabátek, said that during the talks they had run into disagreements over parking and the Silo. [1] After the Sunday meetings, Mayor Petr Ryška said that the parties had aligned their views on programme points and would meet again at the end of the week. [1] According to Deník, the talks were to continue on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October 2026, and Ryška said that more would be clear on Thursday 15 October. [2] Continued cooperation with ANO would give the coalition 26 seats, an alliance with Starostové a nezávislí 21, and an alliance with them and with the Pirates and Fórum Jihlava 24 seats. [2] According to Petr Kabátek, a coalition only with the Pirates and Fórum Jihlava would have 19 seats, the narrowest possible majority, and the mayor does not want to enter such an alliance. [1] Tým pro Jihlavu won 16 of the 37 seats in the municipal elections, ANO ten, Starostové a nezávislí five, and the joint list of the Pirates and Fórum Jihlava, supported by the Greens, three. [2] The council also includes a coalition of SPD, Svobodní, PRO and Trikolora, which, according to Deník, will probably remain in opposition. [2] The ANO leader Radek Popelka said that the movement is ready to negotiate and will not seek the post of mayor. [2]
