Petr Ryška is the incumbent mayor of Jihlava and leader of the Tým Pro Jihlavu grouping.[2] He is a member of the Czech Olympic Committee. [6] In the municipal elections of October 2026, ODS, KDU-ČSL, TOP 09 and Starostové a nezávislí ran with him.[4]

According to Deník Vysočina, the grouping won the election in Jihlava and took 16 seats, with the ANO movement second.[2] Ryška won 6,425 votes. [2] The town council has 37 members and turnout in Jihlava reached 41.23 percent. [2] Tým Pro Jihlavu won 37.5 percent of the votes, whereas in 2022, running without TOP 09, it had just under 23 percent. [1] In the 2022 elections ANO won with 14 seats, yet Ryška became mayor thanks to a coalition of ODS and KDU-ČSL. [6] Seznam Zprávy report that the ANO movement did not defend its victory in Jihlava.[1] After the election Ryška announced talks with ANO, STAN and the Czech Pirate Party and ruled out cooperation with SPD. [5] Member of the Chamber of Deputies Vítězslav Schrek also won a council seat, from twelfth place on the Tým Pro Jihlavu list. [2] The ANO leader Radek Popelka said he would not seek the post of mayor because, in his view, the office belongs to the winner of the election. [5] According to Seznam Zprávy, Ryška also did not rule out continuing the existing cooperation of ODS, KDU-ČSL and ANO. [1]

On 7 October 2026 he took part in a debate of Český rozhlas Vysočina with the participating groupings.[4] The debate concerned blue zones, the housing shortage and the revival of the town centre, and Ondřej Junek for Sociální demokracie a Levice and Petr Kabátek for Starostové a nezávislí also took part. [4] The mayor of Jihlava is elected by the newly elected council from among its members, which requires at least 19 votes. [6]
