The Petr Bezruč Theatre was a theatre in Ostrava that emerged through the gradual transformation of the artistic group Kytice. It was founded during the Second World War by young theatre enthusiasts; Kytice developed into Divadlo mladých, then Městské divadlo mladých and finally the Petr Bezruč Theatre [1][2].
Members
One of the theatre's founders was the actress Štěpánka Ranošová (14 October 1926 – 1 October 2026). She remained loyal to the company for forty years, except for the 1947/48 season, when she worked at the Beskydské divadlo in Nový Jičín. She retired at the end of the 1980s [1][2].
