On 5 October 2026 he won the Zlatý míč journalists' poll for the best Czech footballer of the season for the second time in his career; the results were announced in Prague by the Club of Sports Journalists. In the overall ranking he beat Pavel Šulc by 19 points, and Ladislav Krejčí finished third. He won his first title in the poll in the 2021/22 season.[1]
In the past season he scored 16 goals for Leverkusen in the German league, where he finished fourth among scorers, four goals in the Champions League and two in the domestic cup. He scored two goals for the national team.[1]
After the summer World Cup in North America he ended his time with the national team. On 5 October 2026 he said that the decision stands for now but that he does not rule out a return in the future. According to the Czech News Agency, he judged the changes under the new coach Santi Denia positively.[2] Schick said: "I started in 2016. Since then, for ten years, the atmosphere around the national team has not been good, with the exception of the successful Euro 2021."[2]
