Ladislav Krejčí is a Czech footballer, a twenty-seven-year-old defender of the English club Wolverhampton and captain of the Czech Republic national football team. He comes from Rosice.[1]

Match against England

On 29 September 2026 he played as captain in Prague in the second-round match of Nations League Group A3 against England, which the Czech Republic lost 0:2. The match was affected by a red card for Pavel Šulc in the 25th minute. After the match Krejčí praised the fact that the team had fought hard and kept its character even a man down, and said that the team was at the start of a new journey.[1][3]

He said that his duels with the England captain Harry Kane were hard but great, and that he wants to measure himself against the best. On Šulc's sending-off he said that the team would support Šulc and that, in his words, there was nothing malicious about it. In the interview he also praised the goalkeeper Matěj Kovář.[1][2][3]
