Santi Denia is a Spanish football coach. According to the Czech News Agency he is 52 years old, comes from Albacete and after the World Cup replaced Miroslav Koubek on the bench of the Czech Republic national football team.[1]

Nations League

Under Denia, the Czech footballers lost their first four matches in Group A3 of the Nations League, most recently 0–3 in England at Wembley. After the match, at a press conference, Denia said it was the team's worst performance so far under his leadership, and added that he believes in the chosen path and that above all he himself must improve.[1] He described an international window with four matches in eleven days as demanding but refused to treat it as an excuse.[1][2] In November the team faces the end of its participation in the Nations League, where it will play Spain and Croatia.[2]

Before the match against England, Denia said that he wants the same commitment from the team as in the previous match against Croatia and that he sees demanding opponents as an opportunity to improve.[3]
