AC Sparta Prague is a football club from Prague.
Champions League qualifying
Czech Television described Sparta's match away at Romania's FCSB in Bucharest. Sparta led 3:0 at half-time and conceded two goals in the second half, but still won 3:2. Veljko Birmančević scored two goals and Lukáš Haraslín one. They had drawn 1:1 at home beforehand, so they advanced to the fourth and final qualifying round of the Champions League. There they were due to face Malmö, playing them for a first appearance in the main phase of the competition in 19 years.[1]
Club ownership
The website Forbes wrote about the public Register of Beneficial Owners, administered by the Ministry of Justice, and pointed out inconsistencies in the entries for various companies. In Sparta's case, it says, the list of owners lacks the club's co-owner Daniel Křetínský. Listed instead are Jozef Tkáč and Ivan Jakabovič, who are entered there as representatives of the company J&T, and also one sports coach. Forbes uses this case to illustrate that, in its view, the register cannot yet be read as an accurate overview of the actual owners.[2]
