Lumír Aschenbrenner (ODS) is the sitting senator for district no. 9, Plzeň-město, and the mayor of the Plzeň 2-Slovany city district in Plzeň. In 2026 he ran for a coalition of ODS, KoruČes and TOP 09.[1]
In the first round of the Senate elections on 10 October 2026 he received 20.10 percent of the vote and finished third of eight candidates. Karel Řehka (STAN) with 32.86 percent and Lucie Kantorová (ANO) with 27.26 percent advanced to the second round, so Aschenbrenner did not defend his seat.[2] On 11 October 2026 he said that his support for Řehka in the second round should not be expected.[3]
