The VS21 movement, KOV and the ODS signed a coalition agreement in Vsetín on 19 October 2026, with Martin Metelka to become mayor.

The VS21 movement, Koalice pro otevřený Vsetín (KOV) and the ODS signed on 19 October 2026 a coalition agreement on running the town of Vsetín. The alliance has 12 votes in the 21-member council. The mayor is to be the VS21 leader Martin Metelka, head of the Masarykovo gymnázium, Střední zdravotnická škola a Vyšší odborná škola zdravotnická Vsetín. By his own account he will leave the post of head and is discussing it with the school's founder, that is, the regional authority.
The inaugural council meeting is planned for 9 November 2026. Three deputy mayors are to come from VS21: Otta Grebeň as first, Kateřina Janošková as second and Zdeněk Čablík as third. The seven-member board is to be completed by non-full-time board members Bořek Navrátil (VS21), Pavla Fojtíková (KOV) and Roman Kalabus (ODS). The councillors will fill the posts at the inaugural meeting.
In the election, VS21 won 40.50 per cent of the vote and ten of 21 seats. The list Vsetín srdcem a rozumem, led by the incumbent mayor Jiří Čunek, came second with 16.17 per cent and four seats. The ANO movement won three seats, and KOV, the ODS, Probuďme Vsetín! and Naše Česko – Náš Vsetín one each. Shortly after the election Čunek announced that he would not seek any post in the town's leadership.
Metelka said that the coalition is aiming for the broadest possible cooperation and that the programme is being prepared as it goes, because preparation of next year's budget is already under way. The priorities include flats for young people, cooperation with employers, an investment plan, support for technical education, social services, accessible health care, sport, culture and digital services. The new leadership also wants to reassess investment in sports infrastructure, for example the transformation of the stadium at Ohrada, the modernisation of the ice rink and the construction of a new sports hall.
