Braník is a part of Prague on the right bank of the Vltava. Its territory includes a stretch of the Vltava embankment by the former ice houses, where a local campsite and a children’s playground with sandpits are located [1][2]. A canoeing club and the rowing club TJ Kotva Braník are based near the embankment [1][2].

Embankment and cycle route

The backbone cycle route A2 runs through Braník; it connects the southern and northern edges of Prague along the right bank of the Vltava and is 31 kilometres long [1][2]. In the section by Braník the route in 2026 is diverted along a road, whereas outside the city centre it otherwise runs on separate paths [2]. The embankment in Braník stretches from the mouth of the Kunratický potok to the street U Kempinku, where it joins the existing cycle route [1][2].

Planned embankment works

In September 2026 Prague City Hall announced a tender for works on this section of the embankment, within which a path for pedestrians and cyclists with a footbridge across the bay by the canoeing club is to be built [1][2]. During the planned construction, access to the river is to be maintained for the club TJ Kotva Braník [1][2].
