
Alena Schillerová (born 18 March 1964) is a Czech lawyer and politician. Since 15 December 2025 she has been Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the government of Andrej Babiš.[1][2] She previously served as Minister of Finance from 2017 to 2021.[1]*
Education
She studied law at Masaryk University in Brno, where she obtained the JUDr. degree (1982–1988). At the same university she completed doctoral studies in administrative law in 1997–2000.[1]
In the tax administration
From 1991 she worked at the Brno-venkov Tax Office as a lawyer, and in 1994 she headed its legal and enforcement department. From 1995 to 2006 she was deputy director and from 2006 to 2012 director of the office.[1] In 2013–2014 she was in the management of the Tax Office for the South Moravian Region, and in 2014–2015 she headed the legal and tax procedure department of the General Financial Directorate.[1] In 2016–2017 she was Deputy Minister of Finance for taxes and customs, responsible among other things for introducing electronic registration of sales.[1]
Politics
From 2017 to 2021 she headed the Ministry of Finance, from 2019 also as Deputy Prime Minister.[1] Since 2021 she has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies. From 2021 to 2025 she chaired the ANO 2011 parliamentary group, and from 2022 to 2025 she was vice-chair of the budget committee.[1] On 15 December 2025 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš installed her as Minister of Finance, the first member of his new government to take office; she took over the ministry from Zbyněk Stanjura.[2]
