Commemorative event in October 2026
On 7 October 2026 it held a commemorative gathering called “We Will Not Forget!” at Jan Palach Square, in front of the Rudolfinum, on the third anniversary of the attacks by Hamas on Israel.[4] Several hundred people attended, and many held Israeli flags.[2][4] According to the organiser, the participants came to remember the victims of the attack and to express solidarity with the families whose lives were changed by the attack and the war that followed.[4] The gathering featured recollections, prayers and warnings against antisemitism, and thanks were also expressed to Czech citizens for their support.[2][4] The event lasted about an hour and was overseen by several dozen police officers and members of an anti-conflict team.[2][4]
The Minister for Sport, Prevention and Health Boris Šťastný and the mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda were present and paid tribute to the victims of the attack.[1][3][4]
