Stadion Praha is a planned stadium that the city is preparing together with Prague universities. According to earlier information, the universities' hockey clubs lack good facilities for training and competition.[1][2] It is to hold roughly 5,000 spectators and, according to earlier estimates, cost hundreds of millions of crowns.[1] At least half of the time it is to serve university clubs, and the rest, for example, youth and women's hockey, para ice hockey and other sporting activities.[1][2]

Location

Prague originally planned the stadium on Štvanice, which, according to the councillor Antonín Klecanda (STAN), the leadership of Prague 7 opposed.[1][2] On 29 September 2026 the councillor said that the Pelc-Tyrolka area in Prague 8, which is close to university dormitories, is on offer as a suitable location.[1] A study has been prepared for the stadium and a project is now to begin to be prepared. The completion date is not yet known.[1][2]

Alongside the stadium, a swimming pool is to be built at Pelc-Tyrolka, which would use waste heat from cooling the ice surface to heat the water.[1][2]
