Serial Killer is a festival of series in Brno that presents new series and holds a competition. The ninth edition took place from 23 to 28 September 2026.[1][3] It offered 40 screenings and 33 series from 15 countries. It included the TV Days professional conference, at which 70 speakers from 15 countries appeared.[1]

Competitions and awards

The Primetime Killer award for the best series from Central and Eastern Europe went to the Polish series Proud by director Karol Klementewicz. Klementewicz also received the Progressive Killer award for a personality of the region's television production.[1][2]

In 2026 the Czech competition section Czech Killer was held for the first time. It was won by the Czech Television series Kamarád, which is to appear on screen in spring 2027. A special mention of the jury went to the acting ensemble of the series Oddíl B, whose premiere on the Oneplay platform is planned for 9 October 2026.[1][2] An audience vote was also held for the first time, and Kamarád won it.[2]

The tenth edition is planned for 21 to 26 September 2027.[1] The results of the 2026 edition are summarised in the article Announcement of the Serial Killer festival awards 2026.
