A month-long repair of a seven-kilometre section of the D11 motorway near Chlumec nad Cidlinou has ended, and since 4 October 2026 there have been no restrictions there.[2] The works cost a total of 125 million crowns.[1]

Course of the repair

The company Strabag SIS repaired the cement-concrete carriageway using the blacktopping technology. Road workers milled off the existing concrete layer and, after cleaning the base, replaced it with an asphalt surface.[2] The technology was used in four variants. According to the Road and Motorway Directorate (Ředitelství silnic a dálnic), it is a pilot project meant to test different carriageway constructions.[1]

The work also included repairs to the exit and entry ramps at the Chlumec nad Cidlinou grade-separated interchange, renewal of road markings and an adjustment of the traffic telematics. The traffic buttons disappeared from the carriageway.[1][2]

Other repairs on the D11

Since the first half of August 2026 the Road and Motorway Directorate has been repairing a fourteen-kilometre section of the D11 between Poděbrady and Sadská in the direction of Prague. Traffic runs there in four narrowed lanes, and the work, worth 757 million crowns excluding VAT, is to be finished in October.[2]
