Počerady Power Station is located in the Louny area. According to the environmental association Arnika, it was the largest source of greenhouse gases in Czechia in 2025, reporting 4.2 million tonnes. It was followed by the Tušimice and Prunéřov power plants in the Chomutov area and Ledvice in the Teplice area.[1] In the ranking of mercury emissions to air, water and soil, Počerady placed first with 242 kilograms, ahead of Prunéřov with 183 kilograms and the Chvaletice power plant in the Pardubice area with 172 kilograms.[1]
Eva Maříková, spokeswoman of Sev.en Česká Energie, said the plant operates under valid permits, complies with emission limits and proceeds in line with Czech and European regulations. According to her, Počerady is among the largest electricity producers in Czechia and therefore also among the largest emitters.[1]
