In October 1976 he was in Baník's starting line-up in the second round of the European Champions' Cup against Bayern Munich, playing in attack alongside Verner Lička and Zdeněk Lorenc. [1] In November of the same year he played the first half of his only international match, a 0:2 defeat by Germany in Hanover. [1]
He played 114 league matches for Baník and scored fifteen goals. [1] He stayed there until 1977, when he moved to AC Sparta Prague, and in 1982 he left for Dukla.
