Náměstí Svobody in Brno was the venue of a demonstration in support of public-service media on 24 October 2026.

On Saturday afternoon, 24 October 2026, a demonstration called by the association Million Moments for Democracy took place on Náměstí Svobody in Brno. According to Brněnská Drbna, thousands of people came and protested against the government's changes to the financing of public-service media.[1] A speaker on the stage criticised the government for pushing through overnight a law changing the foundations of public-service media, without the expert debate that experts and the President of the Republic had called for. [1] Among the banners, a red sign reading "Public-service, not government-run! Hands off the media!" stood out, expressing the protesters' main demand. [1] One of the banners carried a quotation from Karel Havlíček Borovský: "To behave idly is to go backwards". [1]
