Marek Zelenka is the lead candidate of the Starostové a nezávislí (STAN) movement in Olomouc in the 2026 municipal elections.[2][3]
In these elections STAN won nine seats in the 45-member council, and the winning ANO won thirteen.[2] Representatives of STAN, ProOlomouc, KDU-ČSL, spOLečně and the Milujeme Olomouc coalition agreed on 13 October 2026 to negotiate a joint city-hall coalition with 25 seats. Under the agreement Zelenka is to hold the post of mayor; he told the Czech News Agency.[2][3]
Zelenka said that the talks with ODS had been constructive but had not led to an agreement.[3]
