Lukáš Hájek is a Liberec councillor, a university lecturer in political science and the lead candidate of the Starostové for the Liberec Region movement (SLK) in the 2026 municipal elections in Liberec. The current mayor, Jaroslav Zámečník, is second on the list.[1]

Hájek said that SLK has governed Liberec since 2018 and, in his words, has fulfilled 80 percent of its programme from the previous term in full or in part. The programme for the next term includes repairing about sixty more streets, a goal of letting children up to 15 use public transport free of charge, and designing a parking garage near the railway station, which is to begin in 2027.[1]

SLK won the municipal elections in Liberec on 9 and 10 October 2026 for the third time in a row.[2] On 11 October 2026 negotiations on a new coalition were continuing, and no decision had been made.[3]
