Kamil Kubica is the lead candidate of the Czech Pirate Party and Starostové in Hradec Králové and a city councillor elected in the municipal elections of 10 October 2026. The Czech Pirate Party and Starostové won six seats on the 37-member city council.

The parties that agreed on the city leadership form the coalition of the Hradecký demokratický klub and TOP 09, the coalition of the Czech Pirate Party and Starostové, and the association Změna pro Hradec, Zelení and KDU-ČSL. Together they hold 20 seats. Under the agreement on the division of responsibilities of 25 October 2026, Kubica, as deputy mayor, is to be responsible for tourism, sport and selected city companies. The signing of the coalition agreement is scheduled for 2 November 2026.

On the night of 24 October 2026, after the proposal to abolish licence fees passed first reading in the Chamber of Deputies, Kubica sprayed the slogan “Hands off Czech Television” in liquid chalk on the pavement in front of the headquarters of the ANO movement and, with colleagues, plastered the shop window with posters. The ANO movement described this as damage to city property. Kubica said it was liquid chalk and no damage was caused. The inscription was removed on 26 October 2026 by workers of Technické služby Hradce Králové, which according to the city hall took about two hours. A representative of the Czech Pirate Party announced, according to the city hall’s spokeswoman, that the costs would be paid.
